Yokohama, Japan August 2025 : In a renewed push for economic collaboration, South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for a deeper trade and investment partnership with Japan, spotlighting sectors like green energy, advanced manufacturing, and agriculture.

Speaking at a business forum alongside the TICAD Summit, Ramaphosa emphasized South Africa’s readiness to serve as a gateway to the African continent, offering Japanese investors access to a market of over a billion people.

The President highlighted the country’s strengths in critical minerals and high-value exports, while also pointing to infrastructure upgrades and policy reforms aimed at boosting investor confidence.

With over 270 Japanese companies already operating in South Africa, the call signals a strategic pivot toward building resilient supply chains and fostering innovation-driven growth between the two nations
